What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture consists of the gentle insertion and stimulation of thin, disposable, sterile needles at strategic points near the surface of the body.  The needles are much finer than the familiar hypodermic needle. While many patients are initially wary of the claim that acupuncture doesn’t hurt, they soon discover that the experience is quit pleasurable. Acupuncture has been proven to stimulate the release of opiate-like hormones and normally induces a deep state of relaxation, balance and healing.

Is Acupuncture Painful?
Acupuncture bears no resemblance to the feeling of receiving an injection, since main source of pain from injections is the larger diameter, hollow needle and the medication being forced into the tissue by pressure. Acupuncture needles are very fine and flexible, about the diameter of a human hair. In most cases, insertion by a skilled practitioner is performed without discomfort.

What can I Expect?
You may experience a sense of heaviness or electricity in the area of insertion. Most patients find the treatments very relaxing and many fall asleep during treatment.  Many conditions may be alleviated very rapidly by acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. However, some conditions that have arisen over a course of years will be relieved only with slow, steady progress. As in any form of healing, the patient’s attitude, diet, determination and lifestyle will affect the outcome of a course of treatment. Patients are encouraged to actively participate in their healing process. In some cases, your practitioner may also recommend herbs, Asian Bodywork therapy, dietary, exercise or lifestyle changes.

How Does Acupuncture  work?
The ancient Chinese recognized a vital energy behind all life forms and life processes. They call the energy QI (chee). QI or energy flows along specific pathways called “meridians”. Each meridian is associated with a particular physiological system and internal organ. Disease is considered to arise due to a deficiency or imbalance of energy in the meridians and their associated physiological systems.   Acupuncture points are specific locations along the meridians. Each point has a predictable effect upon the vital energy passing through it. Modern science has been able to measure the electrical charge at these points, thus corroborating the locations of the meridians mapped by the ancients.   TCM uses an intricate system of pulse and tongue diagnosis, palpation of points and meridians, medical history and other signs and symptoms to create a composite TCM diagnosis. A treatment plan is then formulated to induce the body to a balance and harmony state of health.

Why Acupuncture Works for  infertility?
Acupuncture Has Been used for fertility therapy for centuries. It has been shown To:
  • Improve blood flow to the uterus, which helps the lining grow strong and healthy enough to support an embryo
  • Reduce and prevent cramping, a common occurrence after an IVF transfer. Cramping is very disruptive to conception, as it can prevent the embryo from implanting in the uterine wall.
  • Stimulate egg production, for women who can’t, or don’t want to, use fertility medication to help them get pregnant
  • Regulate and stabilize hormone levels
  • Reduce the chance of miscarriage
  • Reduces stress and promotes deep relaxation, which are absolutely critical if you’re trying to get pregnant, especially if you’re undergoing any kind of traditional fertility treatment such as IVF
Whether you’re attempting to get pregnant naturally or using additional IVF treatments, acupuncture can significantly increase your chance of conception. From our patients’ success stories to the overwhelming positive studies, acupuncture for fertility is the answer you’ve been looking for.

Why Acupuncture Can  Relieve Your Seasonal Allergies?
Commonly called hay fever or allergic rhinitis, asthma. a seasonal allergy is an allergic reaction to a trigger that is typically only present for part of the year, such as spring or fall. Pollens that are spread by the wind are usually the main cause of seasonal allergies. People who are allergic to pollens are also often sensitive to dust mites, animal dander, and molds. Seasonal allergies are caused by the body's hypersensitivity to substances in the environment. Symptoms primarily involve the membrane lining the nose, causing allergic rhinitis, or the membrane lining the eyelids and covering the whites of the eyes, causing allergic conjunctivitis, asthma.

When treating with acupuncture, according to traditional medicine, treatment is directed toward clearing the nasal passages, supporting the immune system and strengthening the systems of the body to prevent allergic reactions from recurring. underlying imbalances within the body are addressed and a treatment plan is developed to relieve the acute symptoms of allergic rhinitis, asthma while also treating the root problems that are contributing to the body's reaction to allergens.

Facial Rejuvenation ( or  cosmetic)  Acupuncture?

is a safe and painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of aging from the inside out to help you look up to 10 years younger. This new modality can enhance not only your physical appearance but also your overall health, giving you a glow that radiates from deep within. Aging starts in the body as the different body processes (like digestion, circulation, and hormone depletion) start to slow down and change. This reflects on the face as lack of vibrance in the complexion, lines, furrows and loss of elastin in the skin. By first bringing the body back into balance, your facial rejuvenation treatments will have longer lasting results. Generally, you need about 12 consecutive treatments to finish the course. Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture
  • Skin is moisturized
  • Bags under the eyes can be reduced
  • Fine lines may be entirely eliminated
  • Deeper wrinkles may be diminished
  • Jowls can be firmed
  • Puffiness can be eliminated
  • Droopy eyelids can be lifted
  • Double chins may be minimized
  • Muscle tone in face and neck is improved
  • By increasing circulation, facial color is improved
  • Improves the tone and texture of the skin
  • May erase as many as 10-15 years from the face
  • Effects can last for years with regularly scheduled maintenance treatments
But it doesn’t stop there. Since facial acupuncture is based on time-tested principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a person’s overall health may also benefit. Insomnia may be corrected and weight gain may be controlled. Cosmetic acupuncture is, after all, a whole-body treatment. In the Traditional Chinese Medicine view, a person’s face is affected selectively by his or her internal organs. Facial features reflect organic strengths, and as internal organs are fortified, one’s face reflects the improvement. Besides addressing a patient’s condition holistically, the practitioner will probably work locally, inserting painless, ultra-fine needles into--and around--specific , acu-points or muscle points, depending on the technique employed. Techniques can be Spartan or luxuriant. An imperceptible electrical current may also be passed among the needles.
